Greet Experts of Iran (GEI)

Iranian police chief announces the official formation of a special police division for investigation and handling of economic and banking crimes in the country. This confirms the news regarding the installation of special surveillance software at Iranian banks to monitor customer transactions, as reported by GEI back in June and again in August.

The special police taskforce will monitor closely every detail of customers’ banking transactions and the circulation of funds under the pretext of pressuring banking officials and preventing them from committing financial frauds such as those recently reported and because of the link to the ongoing banking fraud investigations, intelligence department decided to make the news public.

The statement of course, keeps much of the details untold which the Green Experts of Iran will try to investigate and reveal to the masses, out of a sense of nationalistic duty. And Iranian banking customers are encouraged to take our warnings seriously in order to protect their hard-earned life savings.

One – The illegal monitoring of customer accounts was being planned months prior and irrelevant to the banking frauds, by the Revolutionary Guards’ cyber security forces in collaboration with the office of Ali Khamenei. And as such the efforts of police commander to conceal the role of Ali Khamenei or the Revolutionary Guards in this framework are simply considered a surface cleaning job and shall not divert public opinion from the truth. This plan defies every financial law and regulation binding all banks and financial and legal institutions both domestically and internationally. And the scope of its authority extends far beyond conceivable parameters. For example, creating false records for any account holder or access to all inter=banking relations and details of customer transactions are among the chief reasons for the formation of this organization.

Two – The project is in part designed to identify economic players within the private sector and those unrelated to the Revolutionary Guards. And once identified, steps will be taken to either force these account holders to cooperate with the Guards or eliminate them from the circle of competition.

Three – Another reason for the apparatus is to identify account holders who are suspicious of financial aid to opposition members abroad. Intelligence officials closely observe and control such accounts and their volume of activity and connection with other accounts.

Four – Every single account holding foreign currency and those holding domestic currency over 500 million Toomans have been under observation over the past six months and their transaction history of the past four years have been checked. Files containing complete information as to security, assets, sub-accounts, and every Real or Legal ownership of these accounts have been submitted to the Intelligence ministry and they are currently under investigation. This applies to those holding multiple accounts as well and their cumulative total currency assets should not exceed 500 million Toumans.

Five – The joint decision between the security forces and the government is also to subject these accounts to mandatory withholding and transferring 30% of their funds to s special “Holding Account” to reserve for times of potential crisis.

Six – At the moment the circulation of all foreign currency funds are under extreme control and essentially frozen by the Central Bank and not controlled by account holders.

Seven – Policy manuals for controlling of accounts in excess of 200 million toomans owned by individuals or legal entities, are due to be released in short order and their scope of control is expected to gradually expand.

GEI warns Iranian citizens to take every measure to protect their financial assets and if possible not to deposit all their money in state owned or private banks that are known to be officially controlled by Intelligence forces.

Iranian banking network is presently unable to meet its customers’ financial and economic needs and the banks have practically turned into a network of “Informants” releasing the customers’ most private information to Intelligence department and in the event of the slightest political, economic or military crisis, they will submit to Security forces, the entire financial assets in their possession – down to the last dime.
