Reports out today reveals a secret new missile launching facility in Iran, reinforcing concerns that the Islamic Republic is being aided by North Korea.
According to Jane’s, the London-based intelligence group, new satellite images show a launch pad 6.5 miles north-east of the existing Semnan site. It could ultimately launch Tehran’s next-generation Simorgh rocket, said experts. Worryingly, the nature of construction suggests that Iran has been collaborating with Pyongyang.
This news should not come as a shock to the world as the North Koreans have had close collaboration with the rulers of Iran since the 80s. I did many reports on that while spying for America in the Revolutionary Guards of Iran and I have been trying to warn the West of this collaboration and the fact that the messianic regime in Iran has its eyes set on becoming a nuclear power State with capacities of covering the whole of Europe under its nuclear armed missiles. In my article “Former Iranian Officer Explains the Games Mullahs Play”(August 8, 2008), I have explained this collaboration and the mullahs intentions, “…North Koreans are in Iran helping with the development of their missile technology. North Korea itself cannot pursue ballistic missile delivery without some harsh objection from the Chinese and the West, so their involvement in Iran serves their interests as well. The intent of developing the thousands of missiles is in pursuit of the same goal: overwhelming any defense capability to inflict damage and create fear…”
I have again touched on this subject in my article “An Open Letter to President Obama on Appeasing Iran”(February 20, 2009), “…The Revolutionary Guards recently performed multiple tests on surface-to-surface missiles fired from a ship. One needs to ask what the purpose is for such tests. Could it be that they intend to launch missiles against an enemy far from Iran, perhaps from a ship closer to that enemy’s border? With the help of North Korea, the Guards are working on long-range ballistic missiles in tests that are concealed by their space project. Other tests include expanding the reach of their Shahab-3 missiles to cover Europe, which currently are capable of targeting Tel Aviv, Riyadh, U.S. bases in Iraq, and the Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain. The Guards now have more than 100 Shahab-3 missiles in stock while working to develop a nuclear warhead…”
The West needs to wake up and realize that the time is running out and the countdown has already started. It needs to stop this vacilation and indecision and deal with the reality that a nuclear armed Iran will have unimaginable consequences for the world.
Hassan Abbasi, a former commander of the Guards and a current strategist close to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader, and the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, best describes the mullahs’ agenda: “Creating terror and fear in the land of infidels in any form — not only is it legitimate but it’s holy.”
