“A Time to Betray” is now part of JCITA’s (Joint Counterintelligence Training Academy of DOD) Iranian Program’s readings.

Written by Reza Kahlili on November 1st, 2010

I was honored to be invited to share my experience at the Joint Counter Intelligence Training Academy of DOD about Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and the ruling clerical establishment.

Many intelligence officers were in attendance. These people will later become our future analysts and intelligence operators outside of the U.S. and in some very hot places like Afghanistan and Iraq. My message focused on the mentality of the radicals and the problems we are facing can be traced to the fact that we fail to understand their world view.

My presentation included details of the Guards, their terrorist activities and membership structure. I explained the mentality of the Iranian regime and the need to support the Iranian people with their aspirations for freedom. Everybody was very kind and gave me very high marks about the book and what I had done.

The head of that program repeatedly called me a hero, which in truth I am not, but their compliments and gracious reception truly warmed my heart.

More than anything else, I am happy that I might have an effect even a small one on the future generation of our agents on the front lines where they can help bring about change for the betterment of mankind. In the end they all had me autograph their books of A Time to Betray which had been handed out to them earlier on, now part of JCITA’s (Joint Counterintelligence Training Academy of DOD) Iranian Program’s reading. I sincerely thank the head of the program for having me and I wish them all the best of luck and the most success in their operations.

God Bless

Anything on the IRGC is very useful

The BEST! Hands Down!!

One of the most interesting and informative briefs I’ve seen in a long while.

Interesting insider view.

Wonderful, I would gladly come back to hear in time and again.  Such unique insights gave some great insight into the human face of our greatest adversary and subsequently insights into possible vulnerabilities.

Best Presentation!!! Wish he could present even longer than the two hours given him.

Best speaker of the course.  His candor was eye opening and refreshing. Recommending sending his book out ahead of time to guide more discussion.

Outstanding brief, gave a very good brief and understanding behind the IRGC and Iranian mind set.

Better than words can convey.  Excellent.

Incredible.  Very memorable experience.  This alone would make the course worth attending.

Excellent/Amazing!  Hugely beneficial for this course.

Best brief of the course, no one can top the account of someone who’s been there. Amazing story.

Wow, I’m impressed you got this person to come speak.  What a coup!  The first-hand information and insights he provides on vulnerabilities with the Guards is not available elsewhere.  For targeting purposes and to obtain this rare info he’s a fabulous speaker

Excellent briefing!  Good insights into the IRGC and most importantly I liked hearing what it was like for an asset working for us in a hostile environment.  Great for a HUMINTer to see ops from that view.

This was one of the better briefs into understanding the methodology and TTPs. This is one brief that needs to be kept within the course structure.

Great guest speaker.  You can’t get enough from a guy with that type of experience.  You could give him a a whole day and keep the class’ attention

Very good speaker.  Has real world experience with a great and realistic point of view as to what is happening in Iran

Awesome

Found his presentation very interesting. A rare opportunity to met someone with his background. Would have liked his brief to be longer.

Great brief.

    Dear Reza,
Thank you again for the wonderful job you are doing, A presence of a truth teller was absent in the Iranian American society for a long time or probably it could not have been heard through all these years.
You filled this gap by telling the absolute truth about Iran and Iranians, Thank you and we all pray for the Free Iran.
